Let me start out by telling you that we are farmers, mainly.  We operate Kobweb Korner, a unique little shop located along the Eel River in rural Clay County, Indiana, as a sideline. Most of the time, we’re out working in the fields so we have to open our little shop when we know you’re coming and we’re not working 20 hours a day trying to make a living.  That’s why we put up this website, so you can shop with us and buy Willow Tree Angels (Pat’s favorite) or Rowe Pottery (Jennifer’s favorite) or Longaberger Baskets (everybody’s favorite) while we’re working the fields or going to market.  So, give us a call when you are in the area and we’ll make arrangements for you to stop by.

Our little shop has a lot to offer.  Everything we sell reflects our interests and beliefs.  Our shop represents who we are.  First and foremost are the gourds.  We grow all of our own gourds and wash them in a converted washing machine that Pat and my son Henry thought up. It had to be converted because it busted up the gourds when we first tried it. We decorate a few of the gourds and sell the rest of them raw so you don’t have to live with my taste in decorated gourds.  I should mention that Indiana gourds are considered by most people in Indiana as the very best gourds anywhere.  We also sell decorations made out of pip berries. Pip berries can be made to fit almost any decoration scheme and are frequently used in what is called primitive decorations.  We don’t think our pip berries are primitive at all – they’re just beautiful as candle rings, door wreathes, and other decorative touches.  Pip berries are especially popular at Christmas.  You have to order the pip berries early because we can’t grow or harvest them in the winter and when we are out of pip berries, we are out of pip berries. We have especially good prices on pip berry decorations.  Be sure to check our pip berries out.

I mentioned Willow Tree Angels.  Everybody deserves an angel of their very own.  If you are thinking of sending a gift to a friend, send a Willow Tree Angel, figurine, or ornament.  I especially enjoy giving Willow Tree Angels to our kids and grandkids as reminders that they are very special to us.  Our kids and grandkids will have our Willow Tree Angels with them for a lifetime – a very real reminder of the love that we have for each of them.  We also carry Willow Tree nativity sets and other stuff that I can’t think of right now.

We sell another brand of primitive decoration items, Rowe Pottery.  Rowe Pottery is a salt glaze pottery made in Cambridge, WI. Rowe was formed in 1975 and is still in production today. All Rowe pieces are stamped with the Rowe Pottery Stamp and dated with the year Rowe made them. All Rowe items that I have on my website now were made prior to 2009 except this year’s Rowe’s Historical Items. I have indicated the date stamped on each item for your information and I have only one of each item unless indicated otherwise in the item description. All Rowe items are handmade. No two Rowe Pottery items are exactly alike.

Longaberger Baskets is the company that has a main office building that looks like a huge picnic basket.  Longaberger baskets make a beautiful gift or a nice touch to your own picnic decorations.  Longaberger is a lot like us – family owned and people oriented.

Kobweb Korner finishes off its on-line collection with some items to finish off your decorating ideas.  We have towels in several sizes and patterns to compliment your pip berry and Rowe pottery pieces.  Every kitchen needs at least one of the cookbooks we have – I especially like the holiday season cookbooks.  We have DeKalb caps because we are a DeKalb seed tester and distributor.  In the winter, Pat and some friends build a little bit of this and that – we love the marble game – a nice way to get together and chat while playing a challenging game.

That’s about all I can think of to describe Kobweb Korner and the lines we carry.  If you don’t find something you are interested in today, be sure to stop by again. Always feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.
